ADULTS ONLY TRIP TO SF

The first week in December a co-worker and I had to attend a training conference in SF. We would be gone for 3 nights. As exciting as it was, it meant leaving behind my four young children and her two teenagers.  Not sure which scenario was worse?

We left from Boston on a Monday and took the long flight to SF.  I arranged a car service for our stay, Carey limo was there to meet us at baggage claim.   After taking medicine for the flight I was very happy I arranged this.  It was much easier than renting a car and having to navigate around an unknown city.

We decided to stay at Fisherman's Wharf .  What a great location!   The Fairmont Heritage hotel in Ghirardelli Square was about to become our home for 3 days.  We chose this hotel after doing some research on my web page, and other pages as well.   We got a 2 bedroom suite.  It was beautiful!   Our training class was going to have some homework in the evening (boo) so I thought a two bedroom would be a lot easier to spread out and much more comfortable.  We had two master bedrooms with baths, a full living room with another half bath in the hallway, and full kitchen with plenty of room for two laptops and paperwork.  We had a view of the city which was wonderful.  For a few more dollars you can get a view of the Bay.

When we arrived at the hotel, our room was not yet ready.  We walked out the back door of the hotel and we were right in Ghirardelli Square.    We had lunch at McCormicks and Kuleto's, it had the most wonderful views!  Right across the bay was Alcatraz, which was an amazing sight.  The food was wonderful and service was great.  I would go there again.  Oh, we did, almost forgot about the time we spent at the bar later that evening!

The rest of the week went by pretty quick.  We did our training class which took up most of our time, but in the evening we could easily walk to Fisherman's Wharf and do some serious shopping for our families.   We had a great time and had a ton of trouble trying to fit everything in our carry-ons on the way home.  I will save that story for another time!   Let's just say we had layers and layers of clothes on, and the TSA agents were getting a pretty good laugh!

Even though we missed our families terribly, we had a great time and had the chance to see a city that we may not have ever went on our own.   We both said that we would visit SF again with our family.   It was a beautiful city!
